Following Kareena from youthful uncertainty into adulthood, Angel Wing traces love, friendship, art, ambition, displacement, loss, and renewal. In Newfoundland and wider Canadian landscapes, Michele Lear’s novel explores identity, memory, resilience, and the difficult freedom of becoming oneself, through a life shaped by change.
Michele Lear is a Canadian writer whose prose and poetry have appeared in Canadian Women Studies Journal, The Newfoundland Quarterly, the Newfoundland Writers’ Guild anthology Life Sentences, and Once on a Tuesday Night.
She earned a Master’s Degree in English and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor, studying with renowned author Alistair McLeod, and studied with renowned author Wayne Johnson during her undergraduate degree.
